Vodafone abolishes roaming charges in Europe this summer

Roaming charges have been the subject of much debate between various legislative bodies for quite some time but Touchscreen Fones are pleased to inform you of Vodafone’s announcement that it is abolishing roaming charges on its Vodafone Passport service in over 35 Europpean countries as well as Australia and New Zealand this summer.

What does this mean exactly?

This means that between the dates of June 1st and August 31st the cost of calling and sending a text or picture message from any of the countries included won’t cost Vodafone customers any more than it would at home because of the abolition of the 75p roaming charge, which was previously what it would hav cost to connect a call to the UK using Vodafone Passport.

How to take advantage

To take advantage of this promotion you will need to opt in to Vodafone Passport. If you already have this feature enabled on your account then you don’t need to do anything else at all. If you are unsure as to whether you have Vodafone Passoprt enabled or you want to opt in to activate it the you need to text PASSPORT to 2345 if you are a PAYG customer or text PASSPORT to 97888 if you are a pay monthly customer.
